Current Year
The 2022-2023 school year the theme is SuperPowered. We are excited to have some new members join our team and we look forward to an electrifying year! We enjoyed the regional competition in Auburn and brought home the first place award for our innovation project.
Last Year
The 2021-2022 school year, with the theme Cargo Connect (the transportation industry), took us to our first regional competition in Auburn, WA. The team was excited to receive three first-place awards and the championship award which gave us a ticket to the national competition at Forest Lake Academy, near Orlando, FL. We were able to travel to Orlando and enjoyed a great weekend seeing some sights and competing with twenty other teams from across North America. It was exciting to see all the other projects, meet new friends, and compete. On the robot game we placed in the top one-third. Seventh out of twenty-one.
History
We have been a team since 2013. Each year First Lego League introduces a new challenge with a new theme. The team chooses a project that reflects the theme and develops a solution to a real-world problem. We have been to a regional competition in Walla Walla almost every year since 2014. In 2016, we were invited to the national competition in Sacramento, California. In 2020, we were able to complete competition before the pandemic lock down. The year 2021 brought its challenges, but the team was able to participate virtually with the national competition in Orlando, Florida. They received a third place award for their project with the RePlay theme. They developed a plan to revitalize the Omak Middle School play area.
